Overrated Best

Growing up,  we were encouraged to work hard "to be the best and be outstanding among your peers". In our innocence, we believed what we were told as the way to live. As we grew, those words raised structures and formed strongholds in our lives. We always wanted to be the best. So as adults, in whatever we find ourselves doing, as much as there are other people in that space, we naturally function at our capacity "to be the best and outstanding among our peers".  Being at the top is not a bad idea. But what happens when there is no top or better still, you are the only one in that space? What will be your motivation for improvement? What if there is no one to compare yourself with, would you be the person you are now? Or now that you are at the top of the chain or web and no one seems to be above you, how do you plan to sustain yourself? However, when they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and ...

Copy and Paste

Copy and paste is a very popular thing in today's technological world. It is easy and efficient, in that when you are working with big data, it is a fast way to finish work on time and duplicate accurately.  But it is amazing to find out that people use this same principle in their physical lives and decision making. Life is not a rigid system. It's diverse, flexible, and beautiful. So you don't need a planned out office package to live it. As a matter of fact, life is designed differently for individuals and that makes most of our lives a customized journey, tailored by similar principles but different paths. The result or goal could be the same, but the process will always be different. So, you can't fake it. You can't study someone else's life to enter into your own peace. You have to walk in your tailored path. You can't carry the life pattern of Mr. A and apply it in yours because you want his result. God won't work with you that way. Abraham, Isaac...

What God Won't Do For You.

The Lord is gracious and kind. He has all the ability to do all things. He does the impossible. Is it possible that there is or will be something God can't do? There is absolutely NOTHING God CAN'T do, but there are some things He WON'T do. Won't is a decision He made up His mind not to interfere with long before a situation calls for His attention. One of those things that God will never do is make a CHOICE for man. Man will always have to choose for himself. There are things that must be done on Earth but it needs the collaboration of God and Man. When God created man, He made him with the ability to choose. This ability made man a being that can do certain things without God. But if God must do something on this earth, the relevance of man can't be underestimated.  He is not like our earthly parents who sometimes want to do anything and everything for us while we just relax or impose their ideas. With God, it's a mutual thing, there are things He needs us to ...

Strain It!

He then called the crowd together and said, "Listen and take this to heart. It's not what you swallow that pollutes your life, but what you vomit up." (Matthew 15:11, MSG). When you cook pasta, you boil with a lot of water, but when it's served, there is no water in it. This is because the water had to be strained from it, to get the relevant content. Filtering lets us retain what is useful and dispose of what is unnecessary. The thing you do with what goes inside of you determines what stays in your heart and what stays in your heart now determines your character and living in general. A scenario played in front of two people can have different interpretations of each of them because of the mindset they've developed. We sometimes put a knife to our throats and pick what goes into our body physically, for healthier living. But for the real-life given in God, we sometimes ignore and let things that go into our spirit unstrained, and expect the Holy Spirit to do the...

The Future Holds

The future holds what you think it holds. As a man thinks, so is he. Whatever you hold as your navigator tells what comes to you. Your expected end is important because it is the starting point of what happens to you next.  If you hold fear as your navigator and you let it direct you. You will end up where you dread the most. The things people fear is what happens to them. Job was an example. Everything he feared happened to him (Job 3:25). What are your fears? Are you scared things are not going to be alright? Or life is cruel and scared you will be a victim one day? Or the world is upside down and everything can't go, right? These things are happening and the reality that they exist is heartbreaking and a threat to our lives. But, we can't dwell on that. We have not been given the spirit of fear, we have Love, power, and sound mind. We have God. The quicker we understand that if God is for us, no one or thing can be against us, the better our lives will be. There will always ...
