ALTAR CALL

   An altar call is the beckoning of people to salvation. Salvation is the confession of sin and proclamation of Jesus Christ as LORD and SAVIOR . This summoning is not of open disgrace, but a declaration that "I have decided to follow Jesus and nothing can change my mind".    In our churches today, people don't really understand the worth of this call. Some think that it is a mandatory information to be passed after each message. To be sincere, it's the most important message through the ages. How can we neglect that?    If you must know, the preacher isn't the one calling you. The one who is calling everyone is Christ Himself ( Matthew 11:28) . When a lady is of age, she gets into a relationship with a guy she chooses to spend her entire life with(except if she's not interested in getting married). They get to know each other so well that they can make decisions for each other (well, not most of the time, but I believe this is how it ought to be). While waiting for the man to make up his mind about her (whether or not to marry her), after studying her for some time, she would have also been prepared (in all areas needed) for that day he would pop the question. On a day she least expected it and in a situation she had never thought about, the question might finally come - WILL YOU MARRY ME? She might be surprised to hear the question or not (say in her heart -thank God he finally got ). She would say "yes" because she has been in waiting for the question, then every other arrangement follows to get them married.
