Hyperlinks

Things are not always the way they look on the surface. In lame man terms, a hyperlink is a word or array of words that can be clicked on a web page that leads to another page of a document, webpage, or a part of the same document. Something you probably have seen happen on Facebook, reading an ebook, or through email content. It is quite interesting that this same process happens when studying the scriptures or listening to a sermon, have you noticed? The experience is more like reading something and you find yourself connecting the dots using other Scripture so that a particular thing makes sense. Or listening to a preacher and you are understanding a different thing and the preacher's word sounds like puns of words - meaning different things apart from what's being said. At this point, it is the Holy Spirit at work with a person's mind to conceive a thought, idea, or strategy - depending on the intent of the Spirit at that time. Remember that time you were se...

Stepping Out

Reading the stories of great heroes of faith almost makes us believe that some of these men were never faced with Fear. Many times we focus on their bravery, focus, excellence, and strength to carry on (which is a beautiful template to be inspired from). But we must also understand that they were humans ; they had flaws and so many things were against them just like we have them in this time and age. So, they also must have experienced fear while trying to follow the instructions of God, making decisions, or starting some other things.  You and I are not alone in this. If they overcame, so will we. It is a matter of when. Fear, just like every other emotion we feel, at certain junctures in life, is inevitable. Being afraid or scared is not as important as the things we do with it and any other emotion. Fear drains, and standing from that point in prayer and mindset is extremely dangerous because it's might end up with a speech just like Job saying "The w...

The Future Holds

The future holds what you think it holds. As a man thinks, so is he. Whatever you hold as your navigator tells what comes to you. Your expected end is important because it is the starting point of what happens to you next.  If you hold fear as your navigator and you let it direct you. You will end up where you dread the most. The things people fear is what happens to them. Job was an example. Everything he feared happened to him (Job 3:25). What are your fears? Are you scared things are not going to be alright? Or life is cruel and scared you will be a victim one day? Or the world is upside down and everything can't go, right? These things are happening and the reality that they exist is heartbreaking and a threat to our lives. But, we can't dwell on that. We have not been given the spirit of fear, we have Love, power, and sound mind. We have God. The quicker we understand that if God is for us, no one or thing can be against us, the better our lives will be. There will always ...

Waiting in God

Growing up in the Christian faith, the phrase "waiting on God" was and is still one of the popular words being constantly spoken of by people and preachers. Because of the constant use, it has become a cliché. Everybody waits on God. Everybody trusts and believes He is, and everything we were told He can do, but how many of us are truly "waiting" on Him to fulfill the words that were spoken to us? Everybody knows God doesn't lie, but how many believe His truth enough? Waiting is a continuous process. It never stops. There is no point in any man's who believes in the Lord that he should say to himself - I have waited for the Lord enough, I'll do it my way this time. It's an attitude of unbelief in the first place. And while we might say that is true, we have to check ourselves long and hard enough to see if we are also not guilty of the same case. There is always a reason to wait on God. Time tests our hope, love, and faith in God. How long can you wa...

Fear in the Process

There is an African proverb that says, "the demon you've known for a while is better than the angel you just met". As weird as this sounds, many people consciously or unconsciously act it out. This shows the hardness of people's hearts towards change. Change is constant, but it can be a very weird process and experience. The Israelites desired to go back to Egypt and continue the life of slavery and pain that they were used to than to be in the wilderness and uncertain of what the promised land looked like. Yours might not be as dramatic as the Exodus. It could be the Lord telling to you take steps about your finances by saving and sowing. Or leaving the life that is not accurate with the word and plan of God for your life. It could be for you to stop saying to yourself and others, "That's who I am and I can't change." Our change experiences are different. You know what the Lord is addressing in your life. And it may have raised questions of doubt li...

Caught In The Middle

Everybody that has ever done something impactful has been caught in the middle of something. There is always a history, story, or tradition that they believe and was convinced that it's not meant to be this way and they desire to cause a change in history. For the sake of the future, they did what they had to do in their time - while they are still alive and able. They were hated for it. They suffered for it, but in the end, they became legacies. For instance, for faith to become a legacy, Abraham caused the change. He was in the middle of traditionalists (idol worshippers) but had to come to become a standard of Faith. What will you be a standard of? What "middle" are you caught in? Man will always evolve. The reason why anything changes is because someone took upon him/herself to effect the alteration. Change is constant because man is involved. Due to the uncertainty and diversity found among men, anything can change at any time. You are not where you are by mi...

Belief is REALITY

A man is made up of different things and whatever he is, is a product of what he thinks on in his heart. There are so many ways that lead to different destinations. We follow the way we think or believe is right and that's how we begin to form our belief systems. A belief system is an organized thought pattern that a person has repeated and proven to be true to him thereby forming his realities on it.  The things we believe in is what we see as our truth. When a person chooses a path and pattern of life, he believes every other person should do the same, because his belief has become his reality. Until there is another conviction greater what he thinks is the best, he won't let go and will constantly cause arguments or conflict with anyone who wants to impose their pattern on him.  But when a man chooses the way of Love in Christ Jesus, he has the truth and Life all wrapped together. That doesn't change the fact that he'll also face some people's drama who w...

For your sake

Out of greed for money, He was betrayed. So that some might maintain their position and scared to admit the truth, they lied and imprisoned Him.  He took up the challenge that the scriptures might be fulfilled. He didn't speak for Himself neither did He break the Law, rather He fulfilled it- the totality of it in the will of God.  He preached and practice the God, the law and the prophets hangs on what He taught and loved - Love. He had compassion and mercy on us. Mankind became free and empowered to go into greater heights in Christ through the Holy -Spirit that was sent to man when He left. Freedom came from forty lashes, crown of thorns, nakedness, crushed, bruised and death on the cross of one man - Jesus Christ. There is no greater love than a man lay down his life for his friends. Don't see this as a story of a generous guy that is willing to just die. He did all He did in God's will for your sake. How long will you stay bound? He's wait...

The Legacy Of Our Lineage

A legacy is defined as something that happens in the past or comes from someone in the past. Something that can also be called an inheritance or birthright that has become a generational one. It could be a property, money, disease, or a specific way of life. Just like legacy has been defined above, it can be passed down. The passing down of those things to the people of the next generation of the same bloodline or family. The people who are in someone's family in past times are called lineage . The legacy of "our" lineage means there is a group of people involved in this kind of bloodline. And we are talking about nobody but the Abrahamic lineage . This is a special kind of lineage( a chosen generation, a peculiar people that became a holy nation) that has been set apart from the foundation of the world to show forth the praises of Him that always call things and people out of darkness into His marvelous light. The man Abraham was testified about b...

Gasping Out?

The race is a marathon. Why should you give up now? The journey is far dear. I want to encourage people that are running the race faithfully, fighting the good fight of faith and holding on to the testimony of Christ they have received, that the Lord is for and with you. Don't gasp out now. Don't give up.  Those that run, do it to gain something. They pursue and strife to get what others also want. So giving up isn't a choice for them, but they must press the more. And Paul the apostle said:   You've all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You're after one that's gold eternally.  I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got. No sloppy living for me! I'm staying alert and in top condition .( 1 Corinthians 9:24-26; MSG) If everything is hard...

Fools for Christ

The word fool means a person who lacks good sense or judgment. Christ as the person who these people have the status "fool" for, is the wisdom of God. How can some set of people be a fool for the wisdom of God?    Paul wrote in his letter to the Corinthian church (1Corinthians 4:10; KJV), and he called the apostles fools for the sake of Christ to build the church to a point where they start to reign. They were the misfit of their time and they understood why it had to be that way, yet called fools. The fools don't call themselves fools, because in the first instance they don't know or understand that their thought and life pattern is below standard. But for a person to acknowledge that he is a fool, shows that he understands that he's a misfit, but for a purpose. The interesting thing is that the wise always consider themselves fools. You know why? It's so that they can learn from fellow wise men and grow more. They are always reachable and never...

Father's Love

The position of a father means that the personality has a child. It might not necessarily mean a biological one, some are adopted, and some are children to a father by the virtue of learning one thing or the other. It doesn't matter where what makes a person a child, the fact that the person has impacted a part of himself and it's yielding results, he is a father. I won't want to add to the countless definition given to love, but Father's love simply means a strong affection from a man to his children. This kind of love helps a child to be encouraged, appreciated, and chastised (when necessary) Proverbs 3:12. The father's love is a rare one. Not everyone has the privilege to be close to his/her father, but the ones that experience love from a Father are happy and strong. So why is this important? It is because not everyone understands or has experienced this kind of love. And though we might not have the privilege to be loved in this way with our earthly refere...

enCOURAGEr

There are times when a man must decide whether by making up his mind or doing whatever is required of Him. The word "encourage" means to make someone to be more determined, hopeful, or confident. When a man makes a decision and needs back up, just to discover that people aren't supporting him. It downgrades and could lead to giving up on their goals. It doesn't feel good and might end up crushing the person. Except if the decision made is destructive, the other person might not be happy about the discouragement, but in the end, he/she will definitely laugh and say thank God for that man/woman's advice.  An encourager helps in the place of doubt. Some people aren't doubting, they are clear about what they want to do but they only need someone else's opinion just to know if they are doing the right or wrong thing. It might not do much on the decision but someone else's point of view in line with theirs' makes them happy and make them feel...

UNFAITHFULNESS

Unfaithfulness is the act of disloyalty or infidelity. This can also be said to be the betrayal of one's trust. In the world today, its easier to break a trust than to break a bottle. People don't care about others' feelings, so far it makes them stay out of trouble.    That is not supposed to be. Some of the little things that we think it doesn't count means a lot to some people, but do we care enough to think about how they feel? If we can't be faithful to our fellow humans, how much more God?    Our God has been faithful to us in all things. He gave us things without discrimination ( Matthew 5:45). He even answers special prayer requests when we are in need of if we ask in Jesus name, He gave us air to breathe in and make things happen for reason that is name may be glorified.    His faithfulness is new every morning ( Lamentations 3:23 ). Every time we wake from our beds, His faithfulness wakes with us to give us hope. He is ever fa...
