Fear in the Process

There is an African proverb that says, "the demon you've known for a while is better than the angel you just met". As weird as this sounds, many people consciously or unconsciously act it out. This shows the hardness of people's hearts towards change. Change is constant, but it can be a very weird process and experience. The Israelites desired to go back to Egypt and continue the life of slavery and pain that they were used to than to be in the wilderness and uncertain of what the promised land looked like. Yours might not be as dramatic as the Exodus. It could be the Lord telling to you take steps about your finances by saving and sowing. Or leaving the life that is not accurate with the word and plan of God for your life. It could be for you to stop saying to yourself and others, "That's who I am and I can't change." Our change experiences are different. You know what the Lord is addressing in your life. And it may have raised questions of doubt li...

Now: All we Have

The past is far behind, the future is not within reach, but what you have is this moment in time. We are always in the middle of something, we sometimes don't know the past accurately and the future is uncertain. All we know is what we have to do now and see how that help or contribute to the well-being of the future. But some of us concentrate on the past and lose focus on now, while some look into the future and their present is full anxiety of the uncertain things that are to come. The successes or failures of the past, mean nothing to your future if the present is fully maximized. Now is all you have, don't take it for granted. Forget about what has happened; don't keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new(Isaiah 43:18-19 MSG). When God does the new thing, will you be present to witness it? Or will you be locked in your past or future? God is working in your now and only Him can promise your next. Will you let Him?...

Gasping Out?

The race is a marathon. Why should you give up now? The journey is far dear. I want to encourage people that are running the race faithfully, fighting the good fight of faith and holding on to the testimony of Christ they have received, that the Lord is for and with you. Don't gasp out now. Don't give up.  Those that run, do it to gain something. They pursue and strife to get what others also want. So giving up isn't a choice for them, but they must press the more. And Paul the apostle said:   You've all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You're after one that's gold eternally.  I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got. No sloppy living for me! I'm staying alert and in top condition .( 1 Corinthians 9:24-26; MSG) If everything is hard...

enCOURAGEr

There are times when a man must decide whether by making up his mind or doing whatever is required of Him. The word "encourage" means to make someone to be more determined, hopeful, or confident. When a man makes a decision and needs back up, just to discover that people aren't supporting him. It downgrades and could lead to giving up on their goals. It doesn't feel good and might end up crushing the person. Except if the decision made is destructive, the other person might not be happy about the discouragement, but in the end, he/she will definitely laugh and say thank God for that man/woman's advice.  An encourager helps in the place of doubt. Some people aren't doubting, they are clear about what they want to do but they only need someone else's opinion just to know if they are doing the right or wrong thing. It might not do much on the decision but someone else's point of view in line with theirs' makes them happy and make them feel...

BROKEN CISTERN

Cistern can be defined as an underground storage that holds water especially rainwater. The word "broken" qualifying the storage makes it clear that some part it has been taken from it. In other words, it's damaged!     A broken object is of no use and no matter the amount of energy to make it work. A man that relies on it will definitely be disappointed because it won't produce results. Can you imagine someone trying to fill a broken jar with water or waiting to drink from it? He will end up being frustrated.    It is clear that both (the one who fills and the other who needs water) will not only be disappointed and also discover that its been a waste of time and energy all along. We might consider these fellows as fools, But don't we think if they'd known the cistern is broken, they wouldn't have bothered themselves to even seek for water nor fill it up. They might be ignorant. It is true that rain falls, but how good is the cistern? O...
