Waiting in God

Growing up in the Christian faith, the phrase "waiting on God" was and is still one of the popular words being constantly spoken of by people and preachers. Because of the constant use, it has become a cliché. Everybody waits on God. Everybody trusts and believes He is, and everything we were told He can do, but how many of us are truly "waiting" on Him to fulfill the words that were spoken to us? Everybody knows God doesn't lie, but how many believe His truth enough? Waiting is a continuous process. It never stops. There is no point in any man's who believes in the Lord that he should say to himself - I have waited for the Lord enough, I'll do it my way this time. It's an attitude of unbelief in the first place. And while we might say that is true, we have to check ourselves long and hard enough to see if we are also not guilty of the same case. There is always a reason to wait on God. Time tests our hope, love, and faith in God. How long can you wa...

Purpose In Death

Animals are beautiful alive and the presence of some of them adds beauty to the environment. But some animals have a better life being dead than they could ever be when they are alive. The products and byproducts from some animals are the reason for the existence of some people, animals, and plants. In their dead state, some are sources of protein, hide, skin, and other sources of accessories that have contributed greatly to the fashion world - feathers, bones, etc. If animals could have more usefulness in their death, how much more men. The concept of death for man in this context is not literally like that of the animals, but that was an illustration of how useful and impactful man can be in their death state. Paul said, "I die daily". As we know it, he wrote a higher percentage of the new testament and has influenced numerous people and even changed the culture of nations. That is how powerful and purposeful a dead man can be. The dead state was explained by him when he wr...

Fear in the Process

There is an African proverb that says, "the demon you've known for a while is better than the angel you just met". As weird as this sounds, many people consciously or unconsciously act it out. This shows the hardness of people's hearts towards change. Change is constant, but it can be a very weird process and experience. The Israelites desired to go back to Egypt and continue the life of slavery and pain that they were used to than to be in the wilderness and uncertain of what the promised land looked like. Yours might not be as dramatic as the Exodus. It could be the Lord telling to you take steps about your finances by saving and sowing. Or leaving the life that is not accurate with the word and plan of God for your life. It could be for you to stop saying to yourself and others, "That's who I am and I can't change." Our change experiences are different. You know what the Lord is addressing in your life. And it may have raised questions of doubt li...

Beyond You

You exist in this world for a reason. There is an impact you must make on earth. It wasn't a mistake you came in this time, you could have been put here before or after now. Why now? It's because you have a purpose. You thought you were ordinary - just one of the billions on earth. You ask what difference does it make that you are here? Well, if you weren't that important, the devil won't be on your case. He attacks you constantly, bruise your heels, cloud your mind with hurtful thoughts that depress and make you lose hope that you can never be a voice in this world. Well, that's a lie. God didn't plan that you will go through the things you went through. But if you went through it, He is using it for your good. Because all things work together for good to them that love God and called according to His purpose. The things you went through were supposed to take you to a place beyond the consciousness of yourself. There is an agenda beyond you and you are pa...

Worth

A person who trades with gold might consider precious stones like pearl and ruby a waste because whatever he gets is weight and measured in gold terms. So also a person who does business with stones will appreciate pearl and ruby. But an archeologist finds, recognizes, gets, keeps, and trades with treasures. People measure value with the extent of their exposure. They define others and sometimes make them feel less than their values. No person is worthless, but who is defining you? Who is telling you your worth? Who attached the price tag? God is the creator of all things. He never creates without a purpose. The purpose is according to the intent of God. Only God can define your worth accurately and appropriately. Because things have a purpose, then it's value is priceless. You are priceless. You can't accurately attach a price to yourself. You don't know you enough to be the judge of that. Priceless could mean costly, valuable, important, precious, significant, rare,...
