What God Won't Do For You.

The Lord is gracious and kind. He has all the ability to do all things. He does the impossible. Is it possible that there is or will be something God can't do?

There is absolutely NOTHING God CAN'T do, but there are some things He WON'T do. Won't is a decision He made up His mind not to interfere with long before a situation calls for His attention.

One of those things that God will never do is make a CHOICE for man. Man will always have to choose for himself.

There are things that must be done on Earth but it needs the collaboration of God and Man. When God created man, He made him with the ability to choose. This ability made man a being that can do certain things without God. But if God must do something on this earth, the relevance of man can't be underestimated.

He is not like our earthly parents who sometimes want to do anything and everything for us while we just relax or impose their ideas. With God, it's a mutual thing, there are things He needs us to acknowledge or do before He can do anything about it.

Our choice spreads into the facets of our life. So, let's say, in your career, you want to be the best and be relevant. You prayed about your intentions but decided not to take any step into finding out what it takes to be the best. You have limited God with that act.

God can lead you in the way, but He won't make your mind up for you. It is as you go that you get leadings and directions. But if you stay in a spot and expect to be in the front by magic, it will not happen.

Do you think if David didn't make up his mind to defend Israel, he'd ever have killed Goliath or even become the king?

Choice matters.

Let's say Daniel decided not to study the books and records, do you think Israel will leave Babylon after 70 years? Or you think, Esther's choosing not to meet the king would have brought deliverance to her people? No. They made up their minds to take those steps, then the Lord led them in the right direction.

Of course, if they didn't, someone else would have. But the person who would also have had to make a choice. Who knows, maybe, the thing stopping you from getting your desired results is your inability to make up your mind to do something.

Whatever God wants to do here on Earth needs the partnership of man. So, when you ask that the will of God be done here (family, work, business, etc), are you also making up your mind to be the channel for that resource?

When you pray about anything are ready to make a decision about that thing, or it's just information you want God to be aware of? Well, for your information, He knows before you asked, what is left is YOU choosing to align with the solution and process.

Or, is it a personal matter and you've prayed and asked that you want to be healed and free of certain struggle and pain? Are you telling it to the Lord just for Him to see you in the pain, hurt, guilt, shame, pity, or discouragement? Or are you making up your mind to heal up, move on, and be great? You can't be inactive and expect things to change.

Your decision is enough encouragement for the Lord to step in the situation, help you through it and beyond you, but that decision is what God won't do for you. It is your responsibility.

Shalom!

Wrap Ups

Endings are better than beginnings. Sticking to it is better than standing out ( Ecclesiastes 7:8; MSG). The end justifies the means and starting could be great, but there is nothing as fulfilling and satisfying as the wrapping up of a thing with strength and grace. It is better not to start anything at all than to give up halfway. If we must start a thing, then we must follow through to the end. It builds discipline, consistency, and focus. When a person sets out for a journey, the thing expected on the way can only be assumed but not accurate. Which makes the destination and finishing well a necessity for greatness and forging further. This year has been amazing and some many things were unexpected, but regardless of the emotions experienced, God is good! When we thought it was over and there was no way we will make it, He showed and made a way. The most important thing when we are wrapping up anything is Thanksgiving. It could have only been God. If only we c...

Beyond the natural laws

Laws are laid down principles to help people to walk in certain directions. It is structured, firm, and sometimes rigid. Laws are expected to always follow the same pattern and anyone found doing differently will be accused and penalized. The scribes and Pharisees were always angry at the ways and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ because he wasn't doing the same as them yet have mind-blowing impacts better than theirs. He taught, people listened and yielded, but they force people to do it their own way (Mark 6:1-3).    They are ignorant that even though we have one big God, He is diverse in his ways and acts. No wonder people find it difficult to believe in the ways and characters of a child of God. It is a life led by the wind of God's Spirit because it's beyond the normal laws they believe in. Natural laws are principles generally accepted by people and passed down from one generation to another. We are Christians. We operate in the supernatural ...

Fear in the Process

There is an African proverb that says, "the demon you've known for a while is better than the angel you just met". As weird as this sounds, many people consciously or unconsciously act it out. This shows the hardness of people's hearts towards change. Change is constant, but it can be a very weird process and experience. The Israelites desired to go back to Egypt and continue the life of slavery and pain that they were used to than to be in the wilderness and uncertain of what the promised land looked like. Yours might not be as dramatic as the Exodus. It could be the Lord telling to you take steps about your finances by saving and sowing. Or leaving the life that is not accurate with the word and plan of God for your life. It could be for you to stop saying to yourself and others, "That's who I am and I can't change." Our change experiences are different. You know what the Lord is addressing in your life. And it may have raised questions of doubt li...
