New Season

Oh! Teach us to live well! Teach us to live wisely and well! (Psalms 90:12;MSG).

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom (Psalms 90:12; KJV).
Without an old, they can't be anything new. We celebrate a new year because there was an old one. We also went through thick and thin in our previous phase. But thank God we are here now. In this new season, I want to share what I consider needful for the journey ahead.

First and foremost, thanksgiving. Be grateful to God for everything in your life and appreciate the people in your life that keep showing up. They don't have to, but they are there for you.

Be positive: One thing 2020 has taught and reiterated is that tough times don't last, tough people, do. How do you intend to survive if you are a pessimist? Try being an optimist person this year and your world will revolve in a new direction. It take a positive heart to be thankful.

Have courage. A lot of people are like me - knowing what to do but scared of stepping out. One thing I learnt is to do it afraid. Whatever must be done will be done as soon as possible. Be audacious this year. It will help.

Build by Investing. Building involves adding up things. Line upon lines, precept upon precepts. Investing in this context means putting yourself into something. Take risks. Not just financially, but dare to read, take a course, have a blog or vlog, talk to people, help others, make plans, and stick to it. Most importantly, invest in yourself.

One step at a time. Because these things can be overwhelming take it one step at a time. Don't be crowded with too much. Lay off some weight and take one step at a time in the journey or plan you've made for yourself.

Express Love: treat people the way they want to be treated but don't lose yourself in the process. In other words, don't be a man-pleaser that you forget your worth.

Build your network. Interact more. Help more. Give more (not necessarily money, it could be time, advice, prayers and anything in your capacity to do. Please do). Most importantly, connect more.

Let God and these seven points be your guide in this new season. Have a safe trip.

Lesson In All Things

Learning isn't limited to a gathering of people with a tutor, but an experience that leaves a mark of influence. To learn means to gain knowledge or skill by studying, practicing, being taught or experiencing something. A lesson is a section where something is being taught and learned. It, therefore, means that there must be a teacher and a student. Life is a teacher. It teaches anyone who cares to listen and have wisdom. We are in the habit of running each day the same way and the days turn to weeks, weeks to months and later to years. We forget to pause, pay attention to life and absorb wisdom to live. Some of us have experienced but haven't gotten the lessons out of some. Wisdom is not measured by age or level of exposure or experience, but lessons got from our encounter with life. What did you learn as a child, teenager, adult, parent, businessperson, lawyer, pastor, teacher, etc? Whatever you do isn't as important as what are you learning? What will you pa...

The King Comes

Who is coming? Why is He coming? What is He coming to do? The major reason anyone would stand for anything is because they don't just know, but understand the purpose and mission of that thing.  Sometimes, I find out that I am carried away by activities that don't really matter to the reason why I joined a group or something in the first place. So, what I do to get myself back on track is that: I slow down and ask myself how I got where I am and why I started or made the decision in the first place. And by the grace of God through the help of the Holy Spirit, It works - I find my way back. As Christians, we have been taught so many things and have been involved in so many things(which are very good) that we sometimes lose track of why we are believers in the first place. It is good to serve God and to love others as ourselves, but we must also remember to go back to the cross. Not just to receive grace and strength to do His work, but to also serve as a reminder of t...

SAME GOD

A song in Yoruba (Nigeria) says " the Lord is, as the time of old, but we don't worship God like old times " . This is very true. I always wonder why there was power in the early churches, but now, we hardly see the manifestations like the ones we read about the book of Acts of the Apostles?!    Some times ago I thought that Christianity was a joke passed down to generations. We have little people in the church performing miracles, what are the other members of the church doing? Are we just smiling at situations and circumstances and say God is in control when God has bestowed power to do on us and has made us gods (psalms 82)?    We are supposed to be armies pulling down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4) of the devil instead the church is held in captivity of the strong. The Great and Mighty God is always present but we don't seek Him for help. Where is the power of the church?! Haven't we lost it?    The fathers of old, the prophets, and t...
