WORK

Work is the task or duty that is one's accustomed means of livelihood. It is a good thing to wine, dine, and be satisfied with the result of the work of your hand because it is the hand of God upon you (Ecclesiastes 2:24).    The implication of the above explanation shows that there is no food for the lazy. No work= No food. We live in a world where we want everything to appear the way we picture it without doing anything. We want magical things that require no work, forgetting that those things can't last. They are ephemeral.    Only the work of our hands can be blessed. God can't bless emptiness. It's like multiplying a huge set of numbers with zero, the result will always be zero. Our Almighty God who is the FATHER of all work. Genesis chapter 1 reveals the great and mighty works of creation that the Lord did. When the creator work, why won't the creation work too.    When the Lord created all things, t...

ILLUMINATION

When darkness covers a place, the only thing that reveals the things in it is LIGHT. It makes things more visible. The extent to which we see is due to the Strength of light that is shone on what must be seen.    As children of God, we are commanded to arise and shine because our LIGHT has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon us (Isaiah 60:1). It's obvious that nothing can shine without a light - not even man.     When God wanted to start creation, the first thing that came to existence was light (Genesis 1:3). THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD did a survey, then THE WORD came and after which LIGHT appeared. When light came, all other creations came forth. Without light, nothing can be done.     In the new creation, the first thing needed is light that comes from the word (John 1:4). It reveals the person to the fact that he's a sinner that needs Jesus Christ (who died for his/her sins) and must come to the SAVING KNOWLEDGE of Christ to ...

Happy Day

I've been taught that when things happens and they cause me to laugh or smile, that means I'm happy. But what happen when the day is happy? How do you even picture a laughing or smiling day? If someone ask me what face does the day put on? I'd say a straight face because only what happens to a man each day can describe it. A hectic day, a sad day, a busy day and so on. But what can make a day happy?    I believe the experience of everyone each day isn't the same, so how the day looks is due to the state of mind of each person. If that's it, how can a day be happy for me? Simple, when you have joy within you , you will forget about what is bad/sad about the day and call it a good/happy day. This can only be achieved in the presence of joy and this state doesn't mean that there are no bad situations or circumstances, it means that those things don't determine your happiness but because you have a source that joy springs from which is Christ J...

THE BIG DAY

The reason for salvation, sanctification, justification is to be glorified(Romans 8:30). The essence of Christianity is to make it to the place where Christ promised us(John 14:2). Why would anyone want to undergo these processes just to end up in hell?    We enjoy everything in Christ and often times we forget about our happy ending. Let's remember that the one who starts something isn't as important as the person who finishes it. Don't lose focus on what is important all in the name of enjoying grace. Grace is the ability to do the right thing to please God not to say you're covered despite your secret sins(Romans 6:1-2). Grace doesn't mean there won't be challenges either, but the ability to overcome them (John 16:33).    There will always be tests of faith every now and then. Let's wait upon the Lord, never to be discouraged (James 1:12), but hold on fast to the faith that you've received through Christ Jesus. He never said it would be easy, but...

A LIFE OF PRAYER

The act of giving thanks to God and asking something from Him in prayer. It's a vital ingredient in the life of a Christian. As we know that living as a Christian requires us to pattern our lives in the way of Christ. It's a continuous activity that should never stop or limited to one area of our lives.    The bible sayp Pray Without Ceasing(1 Thessalonians 5:17) Pray until something happen. We can't be believers and be mute. Though we have been told to behave like doves but we must be radical in times of prayer. There is no place you can get what you can't ask from God, and if you eventually get what looks like it, its without peace( Proverbs 10:22).    When Paul the apostle was writing to the church in Ephesus about the whole amour of God, he told them never to stop praying (Ephesians 6:18). How can you have such a great amour and still need prayers? It's very necessary.      Our Lord Jesus Christ was teaching His disciples t...
