Hyperlinks

Things are not always the way they look on the surface. In lame man terms, a hyperlink is a word or array of words that can be clicked on a web page that leads to another page of a document, webpage, or a part of the same document. Something you probably have seen happen on Facebook, reading an ebook, or through email content.

It is quite interesting that this same process happens when studying the scriptures or listening to a sermon, have you noticed?

The experience is more like reading something and you find yourself connecting the dots using other Scripture so that a particular thing makes sense. Or listening to a preacher and you are understanding a different thing and the preacher's word sounds like puns of words - meaning different things apart from what's being said.

At this point, it is the Holy Spirit at work with a person's mind to conceive a thought, idea, or strategy - depending on the intent of the Spirit at that time.

Remember that time you were seated in an audience and you thought the speaker was talking to just you, meanwhile everyone else felt like that, yet he/she wasn't referring to anyone in particular? That's the Spirit of God helping you from your spirit to understand certain things and see particular things in certain ways and because you have faith, they will make sense.

We say that we are people of faith. It will be a good thing to reiterate that faith is our sight and the word of God is the light. Have you not noticed that until you reorientate yourself about God and His integrity, nothing else really makes sense.

Faith is the eyes we see through, so when some words come to us, it looks normal on the surface, but dip down they are mysteries of the Kingdom to them that can first believe it. The light - word keeps shining brighter and brighter until it addresses the core of the issue. Others see and hear it like ordinary, but by the Spirit of God and Faith, you understand that there is more.
When we have those moments, there might be a temptation to focus on what the preacher is saying, the text, or the context of the scriptures rather than being lured in deep by the Spirit of God. You might think it's your wandering and you need to focus to get the best out of the sermon or study.

But on a second thought, why do you think it's at that moment you have a breakthrough idea of what a client should do, or the concept of your next event. It's the Spirit of God. Don't resist Him. Let Him lead you.

Write those things He's telling you for reference sake because you will need it. It might even be a breakthrough solution for other people - family and friends. It could be an instruction, scriptural verse, an article, poem, or song.

Search Scriptures because God will always give you a reference from His word and to confirm, not your mind wandering and worrying to find logical solutions for a situation for real.

Most times, people will confirm those things you have in your notepads. Out of the mouth of two or three, the truth is established. The Lord will confirm his word.

So, watch out for those hyperlink moments when you're with God, whether in church, your car, your bed, watching a movie, or talking to someone. Most times, at those moments, God is focusing His lens on you, pay attention.

God always shows up in unexpected places to enlighten us. Be attentive and sensitive to the things he wants you to know. When you see that the Lord is showing you something, plunge deeper and you will be surprised at what God was attempting to solve with just one word or a sentence.

Shalom!

Wrap Ups

Endings are better than beginnings. Sticking to it is better than standing out ( Ecclesiastes 7:8; MSG). The end justifies the means and starting could be great, but there is nothing as fulfilling and satisfying as the wrapping up of a thing with strength and grace. It is better not to start anything at all than to give up halfway. If we must start a thing, then we must follow through to the end. It builds discipline, consistency, and focus. When a person sets out for a journey, the thing expected on the way can only be assumed but not accurate. Which makes the destination and finishing well a necessity for greatness and forging further. This year has been amazing and some many things were unexpected, but regardless of the emotions experienced, God is good! When we thought it was over and there was no way we will make it, He showed and made a way. The most important thing when we are wrapping up anything is Thanksgiving. It could have only been God. If only we c...

Beyond the natural laws

Laws are laid down principles to help people to walk in certain directions. It is structured, firm, and sometimes rigid. Laws are expected to always follow the same pattern and anyone found doing differently will be accused and penalized. The scribes and Pharisees were always angry at the ways and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ because he wasn't doing the same as them yet have mind-blowing impacts better than theirs. He taught, people listened and yielded, but they force people to do it their own way (Mark 6:1-3).    They are ignorant that even though we have one big God, He is diverse in his ways and acts. No wonder people find it difficult to believe in the ways and characters of a child of God. It is a life led by the wind of God's Spirit because it's beyond the normal laws they believe in. Natural laws are principles generally accepted by people and passed down from one generation to another. We are Christians. We operate in the supernatural ...

Fear in the Process

There is an African proverb that says, "the demon you've known for a while is better than the angel you just met". As weird as this sounds, many people consciously or unconsciously act it out. This shows the hardness of people's hearts towards change. Change is constant, but it can be a very weird process and experience. The Israelites desired to go back to Egypt and continue the life of slavery and pain that they were used to than to be in the wilderness and uncertain of what the promised land looked like. Yours might not be as dramatic as the Exodus. It could be the Lord telling to you take steps about your finances by saving and sowing. Or leaving the life that is not accurate with the word and plan of God for your life. It could be for you to stop saying to yourself and others, "That's who I am and I can't change." Our change experiences are different. You know what the Lord is addressing in your life. And it may have raised questions of doubt li...
