Wife

Who is a wife? Can we really tell the difference between a spinster and a wife in this generation? I have wondered why the name was given in the first place because it's been subverted.

A young lady that has seen herself as someone who already knows what it takes to be a wife would definitely know that being joined to a man in HOLY matrimony is a task that differentiates her from being just a lady to a wife. I believe the name "wife" was given to indicate that there is a man in her life which is not just a short term relationship but a life long one.

For a woman to stay in a life long relationship with a man, I discover that she must wrap herself up in some virtue that can make the relationship last. A home remains unbroken "IF" the woman of the house won't give up. It isn't a surprise if a spinster doesn't have this virtue, but for a wife it would reduce her values drastically.

A spinster who doesn't add these virtues to her values can easily find a way to get them, but a wife trying to have them is like returning to square zero. These virtues are submission and respect. Now some would be like: are you kidding me? Become a slave? But it ain't what you're thinking.

It's true that it sounds like slavery but it's not. See it as two friends who agree on some things, but once in a while they see things from a different perspective which can end up in disagreement. Now marriage is more than being friends and it involves a lot of things when it gets to the stage of a couple seeing from different points of view. It is the duty of the woman to let her husband have a say on that issue- this is submission.

Though you might be right about the issue and it's seeming like the man is holding on to his ego, just let go of yours. He's the head of the house and you are the body. The head is stiff if the body doesn't move, and this is the role most wives want to play - the "my own way" role. Meanwhile, there is a lead role to play which is the "I support you" role.

It is often said that "beside a successful man, there is a woman." This can also be said as "there is a supporting wife beside a successful man." When you tell your husband I have my own way, but I support yours, hoping for the best result - that is RESPECT. The way you submit and respect to your husband and his view determines how strong your home is and wonderful you are. It isn't a sign of weakness, but it shows how strong and bold you are.

This is not just a story that explains what a wife must do to have a solid relationship with her husband, which is how it ought to be, but a relationship of Christ Jesus and the church of God. It is so sad that Christianity has lost its values. We want everything done in our own way. We must know that we are nothing without our savior who took our pain and bore our shame.

To those that have accepted and are already joined with Christ, it is high time you became submissive and respectful to the one who loves you. For those that are still "thinking about it", think about the benefits you are missing because you are nothing without him(john 15:5) and no one can Love you the way he does. What is a man's profit, if he gains the world and loses his soul? Or what shall he give in exchange for his soul? ( Matthew 16:26). Come to Jesus today, He's still calling, please pick up the phone and answer His call.

The difference between a spinster and a wife is the act of submission and respect, these same virtues differentiates believers from unbelievers. Believe in Jesus Christ today and begin to live life abundantly.

Wrap Ups

Endings are better than beginnings. Sticking to it is better than standing out ( Ecclesiastes 7:8; MSG). The end justifies the means and starting could be great, but there is nothing as fulfilling and satisfying as the wrapping up of a thing with strength and grace. It is better not to start anything at all than to give up halfway. If we must start a thing, then we must follow through to the end. It builds discipline, consistency, and focus. When a person sets out for a journey, the thing expected on the way can only be assumed but not accurate. Which makes the destination and finishing well a necessity for greatness and forging further. This year has been amazing and some many things were unexpected, but regardless of the emotions experienced, God is good! When we thought it was over and there was no way we will make it, He showed and made a way. The most important thing when we are wrapping up anything is Thanksgiving. It could have only been God. If only we c...

Beyond the natural laws

Laws are laid down principles to help people to walk in certain directions. It is structured, firm, and sometimes rigid. Laws are expected to always follow the same pattern and anyone found doing differently will be accused and penalized. The scribes and Pharisees were always angry at the ways and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ because he wasn't doing the same as them yet have mind-blowing impacts better than theirs. He taught, people listened and yielded, but they force people to do it their own way (Mark 6:1-3).    They are ignorant that even though we have one big God, He is diverse in his ways and acts. No wonder people find it difficult to believe in the ways and characters of a child of God. It is a life led by the wind of God's Spirit because it's beyond the normal laws they believe in. Natural laws are principles generally accepted by people and passed down from one generation to another. We are Christians. We operate in the supernatural ...

Fear in the Process

There is an African proverb that says, "the demon you've known for a while is better than the angel you just met". As weird as this sounds, many people consciously or unconsciously act it out. This shows the hardness of people's hearts towards change. Change is constant, but it can be a very weird process and experience. The Israelites desired to go back to Egypt and continue the life of slavery and pain that they were used to than to be in the wilderness and uncertain of what the promised land looked like. Yours might not be as dramatic as the Exodus. It could be the Lord telling to you take steps about your finances by saving and sowing. Or leaving the life that is not accurate with the word and plan of God for your life. It could be for you to stop saying to yourself and others, "That's who I am and I can't change." Our change experiences are different. You know what the Lord is addressing in your life. And it may have raised questions of doubt li...
