The condition of having or owning something is called a possession. When a man buys, got, or steal something, so far it has changed hands from one person to the other (whether legal or illegal), wherever that thing is found is a possession to whoever claims it.
Position on the other hand is a place where someone or something should be. "Should" in the definition shows that its an expected place. People have been finding a way to fit in so many places, but just because you fit somewhere doesn't mean that it is your place.
Finding your place has to do with who you are first. In the process of knowing who you are, you will get to know what you are meant to do and where you are supposed to be. When you understand who you are, then you can take your place and have what you want.
We have confused positioning to possessing things. They are two different things as defined above but could be related. When the positioning is right, the possession is given.
If everyone knows how important they are in their places, we won't have people quarreling over to have this and that. We are dynamically different, and each of us has a part (of God) to showcase in the body of Christ and in the world.
We must then know who we are and what we have in Him. Our Lord Jesus Christ asks if life is not more than food or the body more than clothes? ( Matthew 6:25), which are what we know to be the basic things of life(physical), but they're more if we can seek to know the true life.
This is a generation where many people are desperate about making money, living luxuriously and these have displaced many from their initial places which have made them selfish and pierce themselves through with sorrows. It's a sad thing that, we who are made in the image of Christ are found envious of these people and the things they possess.
Our reference point determines the kind of person we will be. We are to look up to Jesus(Hebrew 12:2) not pastors or anyone (the best of a man is a man). When we behold Him, we are changing as in a mirror through the Holy Spirit from glory to glory. The one who asked us to seek God's kingdom already told is that other things will follow(Matthew 6:33).
Why pursue something that is vain, when I can have them run after me if I seek God's kingdom? I will rather chase God to have eternity than follow a multitude to do evil just to have things that are temporary, what will be my gain at the end?. All we can ever desire can be found in Christ.
Don't think your possession is the main thing, it's just a plus. Your position in Christ Jesus matters the most. Stay with Him.
Matthew 6:24-32.
