The Legacy Of Our Lineage

A legacy is defined as something that happens in the past or comes from someone in the past. Something that can also be called an inheritance or birthright that has become a generational one. It could be a property, money, disease, or a specific way of life.

Just like legacy has been defined above, it can be passed down. The passing down of those things to the people of the next generation of the same bloodline or family. The people who are in someone's family in past times are called lineage.

The legacy of "our" lineage means there is a group of people involved in this kind of bloodline. And we are talking about nobody but the Abrahamic lineage. This is a special kind of lineage( a chosen generation, a peculiar people that became a holy nation) that has been set apart from the foundation of the world to show forth the praises of Him that always call things and people out of darkness into His marvelous light.

The man Abraham was testified about by God Almighty that he was His friend. Can you imagine, how a man can so walk with God, that there is no other qualification that can be written for him by God than a Friend(James 2:23)? That should tell you that he went a long way in intimacy and partnership with the God of heaven and the earth.

He was a man who outstandingly obeyed and trusted God to the very end. This man lived without a bible, but the fear of the Lord was instilled in Him. He had a good reputation with God and from the covenant between them, the earth is blessed to date.

From his descendants, we can find people like Isaac, Jacob and Joseph(the immediate), Moses, the Israelites David, and our Lord Jesus Christ. These people do not just have share biological bond with Father Abraham, but also have one thing in common- FAITH.
Faith (as defined in Hebrew 11:1) is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. These people walked with this uncommon virtue of possibility. They are people who walked in impossible places with God. They didn't cower, irrespective of what people around them said to them and in the end, they produced jaw-dropping results.

We can stand today as Christians (joint-heirs with the Son of God) because of the fight of faith of these people who refuse to let go of what God said. They believe His integrity that God can't lie(Numbers 23:19). So whether it happened when they were alive or not, they were fully persuaded that it will certainly happen(Romans 4:21-22).

We have a great privilege in this time and age that what they fought for was given to us freely when we believe in the one who raise Jesus Christ from the dead. The person who died to connect us to the Abrahamic blessing took our place in death, gave us His place in life and raised by God to justify us(Romans 4:24-25).
This Faith is the legacy of the ancient given to us for the performance of the miraculous in our time. We must follow the ancient path to reach our destination - a place where we are not ashamed to call the Most High our God.

Only the people with this legacy can please God(Hebrew 11:6) and the place Jesus Christ went to prepare(John 14:2-3) is meant for people that keep the faith and run the race(Hebrews 12:1-2).

When the Son of man shall come, will He find this legacy in motion on earth? (Luke 18:8) Won't it be that the work of the generals will become an abandoned project? Can God count on you and I to pass the legacy to the upcoming generation?

The only way for a legacy to be alive and active is when we put faith to work. Let people see our work of Faith and leave God to do His part(because only Him can increase), you will be surprised at the harvest(James 2:17-18). Make sure this legacy is not dead while you are alive, fight for it and a reward is waiting for you. God bless you. Amen!

Wrap Ups

Endings are better than beginnings. Sticking to it is better than standing out ( Ecclesiastes 7:8; MSG). The end justifies the means and starting could be great, but there is nothing as fulfilling and satisfying as the wrapping up of a thing with strength and grace. It is better not to start anything at all than to give up halfway. If we must start a thing, then we must follow through to the end. It builds discipline, consistency, and focus. When a person sets out for a journey, the thing expected on the way can only be assumed but not accurate. Which makes the destination and finishing well a necessity for greatness and forging further. This year has been amazing and some many things were unexpected, but regardless of the emotions experienced, God is good! When we thought it was over and there was no way we will make it, He showed and made a way. The most important thing when we are wrapping up anything is Thanksgiving. It could have only been God. If only we c...

Beyond the natural laws

Laws are laid down principles to help people to walk in certain directions. It is structured, firm, and sometimes rigid. Laws are expected to always follow the same pattern and anyone found doing differently will be accused and penalized. The scribes and Pharisees were always angry at the ways and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ because he wasn't doing the same as them yet have mind-blowing impacts better than theirs. He taught, people listened and yielded, but they force people to do it their own way (Mark 6:1-3).    They are ignorant that even though we have one big God, He is diverse in his ways and acts. No wonder people find it difficult to believe in the ways and characters of a child of God. It is a life led by the wind of God's Spirit because it's beyond the normal laws they believe in. Natural laws are principles generally accepted by people and passed down from one generation to another. We are Christians. We operate in the supernatural ...

Fear in the Process

There is an African proverb that says, "the demon you've known for a while is better than the angel you just met". As weird as this sounds, many people consciously or unconsciously act it out. This shows the hardness of people's hearts towards change. Change is constant, but it can be a very weird process and experience. The Israelites desired to go back to Egypt and continue the life of slavery and pain that they were used to than to be in the wilderness and uncertain of what the promised land looked like. Yours might not be as dramatic as the Exodus. It could be the Lord telling to you take steps about your finances by saving and sowing. Or leaving the life that is not accurate with the word and plan of God for your life. It could be for you to stop saying to yourself and others, "That's who I am and I can't change." Our change experiences are different. You know what the Lord is addressing in your life. And it may have raised questions of doubt li...
