Thou Sluggard...

A person who is habitually lazy is known as a sluggard. Can u imagine that you are given a work that involves that you must have a partner, then you find out that the other person isn't active(not because he doesn't have strength, but he doesn't like working hard) when the work had started already?

Even if you try to cover up for the work by overworking yourself, you either end the work late or get sick after the work. Why would anyone want to work with a lazy man? But sometimes that man doesn't even know he's lazy. He needs someone to tell him.

Until an external force acts on a resting body, it will enjoy and believe that's the best place and situation is his present state. In the case of a lazy man, he doesn't even see the reason to work or put things together.

The Lord has advice and a command for the sluggard. He is saying You lazy fool, look at an ant. Watch it closely; let it teach you a thing or two"(Proverbs 6:6 MSG). An ant isn't accountable to anyone, yet it stores food in summer and harvest time(Proverbs 6:7-8). Not for someone else, but for itself.

So that it won't lack anything when it needs it. Why will you who have a family and friends around you not work? If not for others first, do it for yourself.
You can't claim to be a Christian and be lazy. Only a diligent person always has something to show when others are also displaying their stuffs(Proverbs 12:24).

Remember the talent's parable? Two of them were active, working with what they have and they multiplied it plus a commendation from the master, but the other guy who does not see a reason to work was damned(Matthew 25:14-30).

Must you lack before you can work? Can't you save for the raining days? You can't be lazy and expect your result to be like that of a diligent person- it's impossible.

A Christian that wants to be effective must take time to fast, pray, study the Word, worship and always want to win souls into the kingdom of God, then will his prayers avail much(James 5:16).

You can't expect God to neglect the ones showing forth His praises and give a lazy man honor all in the name of grace - that can't happen because God is just and grace is the ability to do, not an avenue to be lazy.

Laziness tends to lack(in all areas where it's applied), late results(while others are enjoying the fruit of their labors and they are involved in others things, a lazy man will just start his, thereby his result won't be the same as others), depression, insults from upcoming ones. So how long will you be lazy thou sluggard? (Proverbs 6:9-11).

Come out of that shell, be willing to do more, act and grace will help through, but you must work. Before you can find anything, you must seek first, don't be satisfied by your present state, always press for more and you will see how things will begin to happen in a surprising way.

Don't procrastinate, have faith and start now! We all have an assignment to do. We can either be the brain box for the work or the helping hand to the owner of the idea. In one way or the other, you are definitely participating, don't let down those looking up to you. There is always work to do.

If you have been thinking for a long time to accept Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, there is no better time than now. He is one who grants grace. To everyone that believes in His abilities. He wants to help you, but you have to be willing.

Break the barrier and He will work with and for you. Get over your laziness, thou sluggard and take charge in the power of God in the Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus. God bless you in Jesus name. Amen!

Wrap Ups

Endings are better than beginnings. Sticking to it is better than standing out ( Ecclesiastes 7:8; MSG). The end justifies the means and starting could be great, but there is nothing as fulfilling and satisfying as the wrapping up of a thing with strength and grace. It is better not to start anything at all than to give up halfway. If we must start a thing, then we must follow through to the end. It builds discipline, consistency, and focus. When a person sets out for a journey, the thing expected on the way can only be assumed but not accurate. Which makes the destination and finishing well a necessity for greatness and forging further. This year has been amazing and some many things were unexpected, but regardless of the emotions experienced, God is good! When we thought it was over and there was no way we will make it, He showed and made a way. The most important thing when we are wrapping up anything is Thanksgiving. It could have only been God. If only we c...

Beyond the natural laws

Laws are laid down principles to help people to walk in certain directions. It is structured, firm, and sometimes rigid. Laws are expected to always follow the same pattern and anyone found doing differently will be accused and penalized. The scribes and Pharisees were always angry at the ways and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ because he wasn't doing the same as them yet have mind-blowing impacts better than theirs. He taught, people listened and yielded, but they force people to do it their own way (Mark 6:1-3).    They are ignorant that even though we have one big God, He is diverse in his ways and acts. No wonder people find it difficult to believe in the ways and characters of a child of God. It is a life led by the wind of God's Spirit because it's beyond the normal laws they believe in. Natural laws are principles generally accepted by people and passed down from one generation to another. We are Christians. We operate in the supernatural ...

Fear in the Process

There is an African proverb that says, "the demon you've known for a while is better than the angel you just met". As weird as this sounds, many people consciously or unconsciously act it out. This shows the hardness of people's hearts towards change. Change is constant, but it can be a very weird process and experience. The Israelites desired to go back to Egypt and continue the life of slavery and pain that they were used to than to be in the wilderness and uncertain of what the promised land looked like. Yours might not be as dramatic as the Exodus. It could be the Lord telling to you take steps about your finances by saving and sowing. Or leaving the life that is not accurate with the word and plan of God for your life. It could be for you to stop saying to yourself and others, "That's who I am and I can't change." Our change experiences are different. You know what the Lord is addressing in your life. And it may have raised questions of doubt li...
