Things that happened in the past are filled with good and bad experiences. When the Lord wants to take you to the next level, he will always encourage you to put behind everything that has happened.
The encouragement makes you see what you've labored and achieved as a little thing compared to what the Lord is bringing your way. How long will you strive to get to another level, when the Lord is ready to take you there? He only needs your FAITH.
When you are ungrateful, the Lord calls to your remembrance all the things He's done for you. When you see everything bad about your life and situations, you can't point a finger at what the Lord is doing and it's like He's left you to suffer, you won't be able to get the best for yourself.
When you spend more time in prayer to tell God what u don't want, why can't you decide to change your situation by telling what you desire? He can hear you and He knows all, you only need to ask and it shall be given unto you.
The coming of a new thing requires that you don't pay your attention on all that has ever happened to you (Isaiah 43:18-19), but while waiting for the promise, always give thanks for the past and be in expectant of what is to come (Isaiah 46:9). Thank God for things that had happened and focus on things to come. May God's grace and peace abound in Jesus name. Amen.
