Lamb of all lambs

A lamb is a young sheep. A short definition with a big significance. Even our Lord Jesus Christ was likened to a lamb- the Lamb of God. Why must it be a lamb? According to Merriam Webster's dictionary a lamb is also defined as an innocent, weak, or gentle person.
In the old testament of the bible, a lamb was an animal for sacrifice and covenant. Abraham and Abimelech used it as a covenant (Genesis 21:28-30). Another time it was mentioned again was when Abraham was to sacrifice his son. Isaac asked his father where the lamb for sacrifice was and Abraham said "God will provide"(Genesis 22:7-9).
Apart from this act of Abraham who was the father of faith, the Lord God Himself made a commandment of sacrifices after he had saved the children of Israel from suffering in Egypt. He told them the procedures required for the offering. He said they should lay hands on it which means the conversion of sin the animals' making it sin and taking the penalty of sin(death) Leviticus 4:23-29.
The things done in the old testament are shadows and samples of things to come in Christ. The part He played for mankind was to make us know that God isn't interested in burnt offerings or sacrifices, but a contrite heart ( Isaiah 57:15). He was made sin for yours and mine sake and thereby breach the gap between God and man(2 Corinthians 5:21).
Man can now stand before the throne of grace because Christ's blood paved the way. But this way is for those that believe in the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. His cleanse totally from all uncleanliness. No matter how horrible you think your past might be, He's here with His mighty hands to save, if you can just believe( Hebrews 4:16).
He has a lot of qualifications, which one of them is the position of being the GREAT LAMB OF GOD! And His functions are not limited but an everlasting covenant for the restoration of things God had made from the beginning and yet He made Himself the sacrifice. This is the love of the Lord towards the world(Romans 5:8). How wonderful! May the blood of the Lamb work for is in Jesus name. Amen!!! SHALOM!!!

You Are Mary

The first Mary was not the only lady named MARY which was recorded in the Bible is found in the new testament. She was "a virgin", which means she wasn't the only one who was a virgin in her time, but she found favor with God and was chosen to bear the Holy seed of God. Mary, the highly favored, blessed among women and the Lord was with her. That was how she was seen by the Lord. Her assignment was to carry the seed of God, deliver a son, and He shall save His people, rule them and His kingdom is forever. Her question wasn't what's in it for me? It was HOW? What's the plan? The answer was the Holy Spirit will come upon you, the power of the Highest hover over you. Therefore, the child you bring to birth will be called Holy, Son of God. It's all planned by God, yours is to align. You are Mary, but whose seed are you carrying? Definitely not Christ Jesus. But what result will the seed you are carrying bring? Are you aligned to be chosen? Are you recept...

Wrap Ups

Endings are better than beginnings. Sticking to it is better than standing out ( Ecclesiastes 7:8; MSG). The end justifies the means and starting could be great, but there is nothing as fulfilling and satisfying as the wrapping up of a thing with strength and grace. It is better not to start anything at all than to give up halfway. If we must start a thing, then we must follow through to the end. It builds discipline, consistency, and focus. When a person sets out for a journey, the thing expected on the way can only be assumed but not accurate. Which makes the destination and finishing well a necessity for greatness and forging further. This year has been amazing and some many things were unexpected, but regardless of the emotions experienced, God is good! When we thought it was over and there was no way we will make it, He showed and made a way. The most important thing when we are wrapping up anything is Thanksgiving. It could have only been God. If only we c...

God's or Abraham's?

The moment the word "children" appears, what comes to mind most the time is the result or outcome of a process. Especially when the psalmist was describing children in Psalms 127:3-5. My eyes were open to seeing results as children. Definitely, children have fathers. Let not go into defining children ( you can always read my post on CHILDREN), But my concern is that sometimes we (Christians) are referred to as Abraham's offspring and at the same time, we are called the children of God. How are we children of God and also Abraham's? It is possible that we are the offspring of both God and Abraham (His friend). We are considered as Abraham's offspring when we believe (Galatians 3:6-8), because the first to exercise Faith in God was Abraham and we are called his children because we are doing exactly what he did which was counted to him as righteousness(John 8:39) - FAITH . So we (believers) are the re-produced version(children) of the Father of Faith - Abraham...
