PERFECTLY IMPERFECT

Being perfect is a state of completeness. No one is perfect all by himself. We are indeed made perfect in Christ because he fills in the gap for our weaknesses(2 Corinthians 12:9), but we only have just a space to occupy in the body of Christ and not every part of it is because Almighty God is the only perfect one who can do all things at the same time. The reason why we are members of a body is to celebrate our imperfections in Christ and filling in for other weaknesses.
We are that way for the edification of the body of Christ(the church) to walk in the strength of a unified body. Body parts can't function on their own- they useless without the other. So are we without our fellow brethren in the Faith(Romans 12:5)?
The bible says iron sharpens iron. The moment we see ourselves as all in all, taking the place of God and forgetting to point people to the cross, but thinking of how we can be the only visible person instead of God and a body, we are at the edge of destruction except if the Lord shows us how bad we've fallen and restore us if we repent.
No single tree can make a forest and a single finger can't lift a load to the head. So also can't a believer of Christ be the all in all of what Christianity stands for. That no man will boost his strength but the power of Christ Jesus that works in all.
We can do all things through Christ who gives strength, but remember that we are humans and we have limitations. You can't be a refrigerator and an oven at the same time. The two keep food but serve two different purposes. One freezes the food so as not to get spoil while the other warms it for consumption, but they are both needed in a house. So are we all needed to fulfill specific functions.
It is true that the Lord works with us and make us grow individually, but strong and firm as a body. He gave all the holy spirit as a comforter to have a close relationship with the Father, but He also gave an assignment for the building of the church and the spreading of the gospel through the same spirit to the church.
Joyce Meyer said in one of her books pursuit of peace "God's word states that if we are willing to share His sufferings, we shall also share His glory(Romans 8:17). We have a command (or perhaps it is a promise) in Matthew 5:48: "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect". We perfect in Christ because all we will face and be is after the order of what He went through, but imperfect in the distribution of labor for the excellence of the Head(Christ) and the body(church).
A unicellular organism doesn't work as one just like that. They have organelles and each functioning as a body, how much more a body full of grace, love, and mercy from the holy one himself who wants us to be one just as the Trinity is one(John 17:11).
Some are pastors, teachers, apostles, prophets, and Evangelists. Some are also deacons and deaconesses to help those in these offices. But when a deacon assumes the office of a prophet because he had seen how a prophet does without any ordination from God, it will end up in confusion amidst believers. No one can come to an organization where the gate keeper tries to be the general manager.
The point is that in any area the Lord has placed you to function, don't be carried away with it that you forget that you aren't the only one in the body. The grace is available for all. Don't be proud, always remember that only the Lord exalts and abases at the same time(Colossians 1:28).
Be God pointers and cross-bearer for Love's sake. It is important to fulfill that greatest commandment- LOVE. Be glad that you are never alone and all you need is to humbly love others irrespective of the differences in culture, personality, temperament, and so on. Love conquers all. Love yourself first(everything that looks imperfect) and watch how it affects every other thing in your environment.
The reason why we can say we are perfect is because of the Faith in the son of God who died (paid the prize) for our perfection(Grace). The Lord working with us using people and helping us to be our best. Love your imperfections and embrace others strength for a better result(1 Corinthians 1:10).
SHALOM!

You Are Mary

The first Mary was not the only lady named MARY which was recorded in the Bible is found in the new testament. She was "a virgin", which means she wasn't the only one who was a virgin in her time, but she found favor with God and was chosen to bear the Holy seed of God. Mary, the highly favored, blessed among women and the Lord was with her. That was how she was seen by the Lord. Her assignment was to carry the seed of God, deliver a son, and He shall save His people, rule them and His kingdom is forever. Her question wasn't what's in it for me? It was HOW? What's the plan? The answer was the Holy Spirit will come upon you, the power of the Highest hover over you. Therefore, the child you bring to birth will be called Holy, Son of God. It's all planned by God, yours is to align. You are Mary, but whose seed are you carrying? Definitely not Christ Jesus. But what result will the seed you are carrying bring? Are you aligned to be chosen? Are you recept...

Wrap Ups

Endings are better than beginnings. Sticking to it is better than standing out ( Ecclesiastes 7:8; MSG). The end justifies the means and starting could be great, but there is nothing as fulfilling and satisfying as the wrapping up of a thing with strength and grace. It is better not to start anything at all than to give up halfway. If we must start a thing, then we must follow through to the end. It builds discipline, consistency, and focus. When a person sets out for a journey, the thing expected on the way can only be assumed but not accurate. Which makes the destination and finishing well a necessity for greatness and forging further. This year has been amazing and some many things were unexpected, but regardless of the emotions experienced, God is good! When we thought it was over and there was no way we will make it, He showed and made a way. The most important thing when we are wrapping up anything is Thanksgiving. It could have only been God. If only we c...

God's or Abraham's?

The moment the word "children" appears, what comes to mind most the time is the result or outcome of a process. Especially when the psalmist was describing children in Psalms 127:3-5. My eyes were open to seeing results as children. Definitely, children have fathers. Let not go into defining children ( you can always read my post on CHILDREN), But my concern is that sometimes we (Christians) are referred to as Abraham's offspring and at the same time, we are called the children of God. How are we children of God and also Abraham's? It is possible that we are the offspring of both God and Abraham (His friend). We are considered as Abraham's offspring when we believe (Galatians 3:6-8), because the first to exercise Faith in God was Abraham and we are called his children because we are doing exactly what he did which was counted to him as righteousness(John 8:39) - FAITH . So we (believers) are the re-produced version(children) of the Father of Faith - Abraham...
