WHAT VESSEL ARE YOU?

Vessels means a lot of things depending on the concept in which it's needed. Vessels in this context means a container made for the carriage of something from the source to its needed location. I believe the definition is general enough to understand a part of what we want to discuss.
In a situation whereby someone is being compared to a vessel, there must be a meaning (at least) to that. What vessel are you? This is a question of identity, that shows what you know about yourself and how well you can defend the definition of yourself.
This question has lots of questions about it. We have who are you?, what are you meant to do(purpose)? where is your place(position) and so on? These questions have lots of things embedded in them that must be treated carefully so that there won't be any misconception.
Now, as vessels, Who or what are you carrying? Who or what is the source of your substance? Who are you delivering to? How often? This and more are the things we'll be discussing.
Being a vessel means you are a representative. Who or what you represent determines what you carry, the delivery point, the source, and how often. We all stand for one belief or the other, so who and what we believe makes us.
The question of identity can be answered with the belief system of an individual. We as Christians believe in the Lord and He directs, leads, and helps us in all we do. Due to our belief we have a source by grace (which is the birth, death, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ) who is THE LIGHT.
Apart from being the source, God is the content (the Holy Spirit) and the product for delivery. But we must know that every vessel has its own function and usefulness. A basket can't fetch water, neither can't a plastic boil anything on gas. Some function unto honor while some unto dishonor.
Indeed there are vessels in a great house( the earth), but some clay pots can be unto honor ready for the master's use than others, the difference is the content in the container. Before the master can use any vessel, he/she must have been purged in and out (holiness is the only requirement for usability).
When each vessel knows their identity, place, and purpose everyone can work together to proclaim the words of God by representing in the best way we can in Love and unity. Never looking back, but gathering courage from the Lord and Christians around us every day and deliver it consistently.
Do you know who are? How cleansed are you? Are you available and usable for the Lord's service? Are you a vessel unto honor or dishonor? Think about these and ask the holy spirit to transform and make you ready for the master's use. He's waiting for your response. (2 timothy 2:20-21). Be an ambassador today! SHALOM!!!

Lesson In All Things

Learning isn't limited to a gathering of people with a tutor, but an experience that leaves a mark of influence. To learn means to gain knowledge or skill by studying, practicing, being taught or experiencing something. A lesson is a section where something is being taught and learned. It, therefore, means that there must be a teacher and a student. Life is a teacher. It teaches anyone who cares to listen and have wisdom. We are in the habit of running each day the same way and the days turn to weeks, weeks to months and later to years. We forget to pause, pay attention to life and absorb wisdom to live. Some of us have experienced but haven't gotten the lessons out of some. Wisdom is not measured by age or level of exposure or experience, but lessons got from our encounter with life. What did you learn as a child, teenager, adult, parent, businessperson, lawyer, pastor, teacher, etc? Whatever you do isn't as important as what are you learning? What will you pa...

The King Comes

Who is coming? Why is He coming? What is He coming to do? The major reason anyone would stand for anything is because they don't just know, but understand the purpose and mission of that thing.  Sometimes, I find out that I am carried away by activities that don't really matter to the reason why I joined a group or something in the first place. So, what I do to get myself back on track is that: I slow down and ask myself how I got where I am and why I started or made the decision in the first place. And by the grace of God through the help of the Holy Spirit, It works - I find my way back. As Christians, we have been taught so many things and have been involved in so many things(which are very good) that we sometimes lose track of why we are believers in the first place. It is good to serve God and to love others as ourselves, but we must also remember to go back to the cross. Not just to receive grace and strength to do His work, but to also serve as a reminder of t...

SAME GOD

A song in Yoruba (Nigeria) says " the Lord is, as the time of old, but we don't worship God like old times " . This is very true. I always wonder why there was power in the early churches, but now, we hardly see the manifestations like the ones we read about the book of Acts of the Apostles?!    Some times ago I thought that Christianity was a joke passed down to generations. We have little people in the church performing miracles, what are the other members of the church doing? Are we just smiling at situations and circumstances and say God is in control when God has bestowed power to do on us and has made us gods (psalms 82)?    We are supposed to be armies pulling down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4) of the devil instead the church is held in captivity of the strong. The Great and Mighty God is always present but we don't seek Him for help. Where is the power of the church?! Haven't we lost it?    The fathers of old, the prophets, and t...
